Second FRS camera at Voss Energi Palmafossen

We have just installed our second FRS camera at Voss Energi Palmafossen. In 2021 we had one camera covering the intake grating, and now a new one at the top of the fish ladder. The project is a cooperation between Voss Energi and NORCE LFI and aim to learn more about the fish population in the river and make sure the migration goes as smooth as possible for the wild salmon.

Mohn Technology has delivered two camera systems to the project, that both are installed on custom stainless steel camera rigs that allows for adjustment of both height and angle of the camera, as well as protecting the camera from ice and other floating debris. The camera on the opposing side of the power plant is connected to the power plant side with a Wi-Fi range extender to minimize installation requirements.

We are really impressed with this project, and all the steps that has been made to ensure the best possible fish welfare!
